Commanding our minds and our attention is not just about the ability to focus on a specific task.

It also has A LOT to do with what we create in our lives!

Your focus is your reality.

Read that again….

YOUR FOCUS IS YOUR REALITY!

And how do you know that?

Well, what are you focusing on in this moment?

You’re focusing on this newsletter.

It’s the information your mind is currently working with to create your experience in this specific moment.

If you chose to move away from this newsletter, whatever you decided to focus on would be what you are experiencing in that moment.

Sounds pretty simple, right?

It’s also quite profound when you think about it!

Each focus we have elicits a different set of emotional responses (chemical reactions) in the body! And, therefore, different sets of experiences.

When you shift your focus and your mindset into a consciousness of positivity and abundance, you literally begin to see and experience the possibilities and opportunities in everything around you!

Think of your focus (observation, attention, mindset…really, any of these things) like a muscle.

This muscle, like any other muscle in your body, will only have a limited amount of strength unless it is given exercise to build it in a way that causes it to be more effective and useful.

If you want to strengthen your focus (and therefore, create a deliberate reality of your choosing), and become the Become the Ultimate Commander of your Mind (rather than the other way around), there are a few simple tricks that can help do this!

Here are a few tips:

Choose 3 specific times throughout your day to give your mind permission to lose itself in a daydream of your choosing, preferably one that relates to something you would like to manifest. Set a timer for 10 or 15 minutes (or longer if you’re able to) to just allow your mind to indulge in creativity and playfulness! Many great leaders and thinkers have developed this habit to their advantage!

Once you’ve started to develop this habit, create another mental habit of allowing your mind this “fun time” when you’re doing low-cognition activities such as driving, cleaning, showering, cooking dinner or mowing the grass. These types of activities are the ones that you’ve completed so many times that your subconscious mind knows how to animate you to do the task automatically, allowing your mind the freedom to have a little fun! Set the intention that if you’re going to daydream during these times, it will be a daydream of your choosing.

PRO TIP: When you intentionally decide what type of daydream you want to have, you can begin to let go of worries and anxieties.

By design, our minds sometimes go to worrisome thoughts. It does this in order to direct our attention to unresolved problems in our lives so it can “fix” them.

But with more specific direction, such as setting an intention just prior to your daydream (“I am going to focus on how awesome it is on my dream vacation.”), you begin to train your mind to observe something new and fun, changing your perception in a way that begins to alter your reality!

So, make a firm decision as to what kind of mind wandering session you want to have.

As a bonus, these types of mind wandering activities will often bring the solution to issues you are faced with because you aren’t trying to FORCE them from your cranium. It frees the mind up to receive inspiration!
