How to Change Your Money Program & Attract it Like a Magnet!
Creating more abundance and money in your life has everything to do with your personal relationship with those things.
We each have a "money program" that tells us what we are capable (or not capable) of creating when it comes to wealth.
So, if you aren’t creating the type of prosperity you desire, it will almost always be due to limiting beliefs within your money program regarding abundance.
A healthy money mindset is required to attract it into your life. And to do that, you need a positive, mental shift where it is concerned.
Money offers us freedom, new experiences, security and comfort.
But many of us are taught to attach negative meaning to money from an early age.
See if you can identify any of these things as being a limiting belief you hold about money and creating prosperity in your life:
Being rich is evil, whereas being poor is noble.
Having wealth is something only a select, special group of people experience.
Money isn’t supposed to buy happiness, so it might be bad to have it and use it for such.
Or, because money isn’t supposed to buy happiness, it could cause a great deal of unhappiness.
People who have money don’t have any genuine friends and/or people often dislike those who are prosperous.
If I desire to have money, I should feel guilty in some way, especially because of all of the other limiting beliefs just listed.
You have to put in a specific amount of hard labor to be deserving of wealth.
There isn’t enough money for everyone, so I’m just an unlucky one.
I didn’t grow up with the right family, in the right neighborhood or with the right circumstances to acquire wealth.
If any of these sound familiar to you, you can rest easy in the fact that it is common to hold these types of beliefs.
Our money stories are typically set when we’re quite young, and they are cyclical, being passed down from generation to generation.
Each of these limiting beliefs, or any other ones you may hold, is a brick in the foundation that holds a larger limiting belief in place.
In this case, that limiting belief is: “I don’t deserve wealth.” Or, rephrased differently, “I’m not worthy of abundance.”
And this is the belief that you will want tackle and knock the foundation out from underneath.
It’s very likely that it resides on the subconscious level; nonetheless, it must be addressed and removed in order to attract more abundance into your life.
Here is one way to discover the limiting beliefs you may have regarding abundance:
Grab a piece of paper and write the answers to the following questions down. These will help you uncover your limiting money beliefs.
What were you told as a child about money?
What did you experience as a child because of money, or a lack of it?
How do you “feel” about money today? And why do you suppose you feel this way? (This will indicate your current relationship with money.)
And,
What has been the running theme in your life for the last few years in regards to your finances?
Can you see how any of this might point to some of the limiting beliefs previously listed?
Or even the “I don’t deserve wealth” belief?
Maybe you discovered a new, limiting belief with this process that you were previously unaware of.
Just becoming aware of a limiting belief that’s been hiding out in your subconscious mind can begin the process of dismantling it.
Now that you’ve identified some of these things, try on something new by changing your money story.
When you consciously change your internal dialogue, you begin to alter your subconscious money program.
Let’s use a few of the previous examples and change the story they are telling by rewriting the negative ideas in a positive way.
Being rich is evil, whereas being poor is noble. “Money is a force that can be used for good.”
Having wealth is something only a select, special group of people experience. “Anyone can create abundance in their life with the right mindset and a firm decision.”
Money isn’t supposed to buy happiness, so it might be bad to have it and use it for such. “Money affords me new, positive experiences, which is one reason I am here in physical existence.”
There isn’t enough money for everyone, so I’m just an unlucky one. “There is an unlimited supply of abundance and it is my birthright to experience my part of that.”
This exercise will assist you in changing the story you tell yourself about money.
Most likely, if you are having difficulty attracting money into your life, it’s only that you are working with past, limiting decisions that no longer apply to your current desires.
But we don’t need to follow the money story we’ve been telling ourselves our whole life—it’s completely editable! P.S.
