Reality May NOT Be What it Seems!

Our brains tend to see what we expect to see, but not always what “is.”

The brain is always looking to make connections, close gaps and see patterns as a means of running efficiently and conserving energy.

In fact, they are so good at doing this that they can misinform us with things that aren’t actually there at all, or quickly eliminate information that might be useful.

One way in which the brain does this is through what is known as neural adaptation, or sensory adaptation.

When the brain notices a constant stimulus over time, the sensory system will simply stop responding to that stimulus by ignoring it.

Why is this important to our personal reality?

What you focus on may not be what another person is focusing on in the same field of perception.

And what fades away as constant stimulus, or what the brain begins to ignore from a sensory level, will vary from person to person.

In other words, the physical networks of the brain differ from one individual to the next, making your reality completely unique to you!

Neural adaptation explains a lot in regards to why people have such varying opinions about what reality truly is! I

This gives us tremendous reasoning to gain control of how our brains are functioning, reacting and perceiving the world around us.

After all, this supremely powerful organ has the ability to alter what we see and experience on a daily basis!

But the brain and mind are not the same. Your brain is tangible; it’s a part of your physical body. Your mind, however, is a part of the invisible world of thought, belief and imagination.

What this means is this: the mind has the intelligence to move beyond the brain; it’s not a part of your physical body and can move outside of it. And with your mind, you can influence many things, including every cell of your body and how your brain works to create your reality!

And research in science is proving this more and more. That’s pretty cool, don’t you think?

So, the question becomes: How often do you use your conscious mind to override what your brain thinks is best for you?

And if your brain can eliminate or reshape information that might cause you miss out on certain experiences and opportunities, wouldn’t it seem feasible to take control over this organ with the more transcendent and powerful part of you (your mind)?

Well, of course!

I challenge you today to use your mind to open yourself to new experiences.

It’s simple to do; you only have to consciously seek out new things and information to focus on in your environment.

When you wake up in the morning, set your intention to purposefully try to find things that may have always been there, but that you just haven’t noticed before or paid much attention to. For example, yellow flowers or purple cars.

This is a fun little experiment to try and you might even astonish yourself by how many things you dismiss on a daily basis just because your brain has tuned them out.

The possibilities this type of conscious experience can really show us how much we might be missing in terms of things we’d like to manifest in our lives. It’s all about creating a shift in your thinking.

When you use your mind to seek new things, you will find them!

And to appreciate your brain and all of it's wonderful capabilities, you merely have to open your mind!

As always, Happy Manifesting!
